Neben Gartenwerkzeugen verkaufte er auch Halbfertigprodukte an andere Schmiede in der Umgebung. Durch den Verkauf dieses Produktmixes war er in der Lage, 1913 eine neue Schmiede, ein Haus und einen Ausstellungsraum zu kaufen und zu bauen, die insgesamt 4.000 holl\u00e4ndische Gulden kosteten. Im Juni 1914 h\u00f6rt die Buchhaltung pl\u00f6tzlich auf, als der Erste Weltkrieg beginnt und Prinz Frans Ferdinand von \u00d6sterreich-Ungarn ermordet wird. Arie wird zu den Waffen gerufen und dient w\u00e4hrend des gesamten Weltkriegs in der niederl\u00e4ndischen Armee als Kanonier in Den Helder. Am ersten August 1919 wird er nach Beendigung des Konflikts aus dem Dienst entlassen.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div\n\t\t\t\t\t\tclass=\"wp-block-uagb-image-gallery uagb-block-7db01577
