Apr\u00e8s sa d\u00e9mobilisation le 1er ao\u00fbt 1919, il quitte son poste \u00e0 Den Helder pour retourner \u00e0 son atelier de forgeron \u00e0 Grootebroek. Malheureusement, les 30 ann\u00e9es suivantes ne sont pas tr\u00e8s bien document\u00e9es. Nous savons qu&#8217;Arie a eu 10 enfants avec sa femme Anna Sneeboer-Grooteman, dont trois ont rejoint leur p\u00e8re dans son entreprise. <\/p>\n\n<p>En 1948, un court m\u00e9trage a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9, montrant certains des processus et techniques de production utilis\u00e9s pour cr\u00e9er des outils de jardin et d&#8217;autres articles que l&#8217;on pouvait attendre d&#8217;un forgeron local \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque. L&#8217;un des effets positifs de la Seconde Guerre mondiale est que les anciens mat\u00e9riaux exclusifs sont devenus moins chers et plus facilement disponibles, comme l&#8217;acier inoxydable.
